Knowledge Prerequisites

The "Basics" training is for everyone (including managers, data owners, etc.). The "Developer" and "Champion" trainings are for IT professionals who have completed an IT education (e.g. university degree or Swiss federal certificate "eidgenössischer Fachausweis"). Professional experience can be helpful but is not required. Typical roles are

Software developer: Develops (web) applications, apps, or embedded systems.
IT operator: Develops ("DevOps") and runs IT infrastructure and (web) applications in the cloud or on-premises.
Software architect: Designs software systems, IT infrastructure or embedded systems. Guides other roles during implementation.
Requirements engineer: Collects business (and technical) requirements.
Security champion: Supports DevOps or DevSecOps teams as a cybersecurity expert.
Future cybersecurity professionals.

A person can also take on several of these roles and then benefits from all training modules. The recommended initial scope for a software developer is 90 to 100 hours. More than 120 hours are available in the Cybersecurity Developer Training.

IT and cybersecurity are constantly evolving at a tremendous speed. So we recommend you keep your knowledge up-to-date with 50 to 60 hours of new training content per year. We add and update about 60 hours a year in the developer training and even more in the champion training.
